Cozy Winter WFH Tops (that aren’t sweaters or sweatshirts)
This is for the corporate girls who work from home and are tired of relying on boring sweatshirts day in, day out.
As I head into my first true autumn / winter in over five years, I’ve realized there is quite a gap in my wardrobe. Much of my closet is still catered to mild SoCal winters that I got by on with vintage t-shirts and the occasional sweater or light jacket. So on my journey of scouring the internet for comfy, well-made tops, I found these that I know I would realistically reach for on WFH days.
May I present: 9 cozy WFH tops that are perfect for the cooler months and are neither sweatshirts or sweaters.
Asher Oversized Long Sleeve Tee — This top from Reformation is the perfect oversized long sleeve tee and comes in a wide variety of colorways. I personally tried this one on in store and have the baby blue stripe en route to me as I type. But you’ll find everything from basics like white or black, to fun seasonal colors like this red stripe. And I love that it’s made from 100% organically-grown cotton.
Elena Knit Top — The asymmetrical button front on this top stopped me in my tracks. It’s the kind of top that works just as hard from 9-5 as it does 5-9, and I would genuinely take it in every color.
Wren Oversized Long Sleeve Tee — Even more oversized than the Asher tee, the Wren is the kind of top that embodies that off-duty, not-trying-but-still-kinda-put-together feel. It’s soft, cozy, and completely unfussy: everything I look for in a WFH top (and one I’d be wearing out for weekend coffee and errands as well).
Noelle Tee — This raglan-style tee is so fun. The vintage car graphic? Love. The fabrication? Incredibly soft thanks to the 60% organically-grown cotton and 40% tencel™ lyocell. It has a true vintage look and feel, which is why I gravitated toward this colorway over some of the others.
Brushed Cotton Long-Sleeved T-Shirt — Can you tell I’m loving a striped long sleeve tee right now? I love the grey stripe of this COS top, but it comes in other solid colorways as well.
Ezra Slim Fit Long Sleeve — If oversized tees aren’t your thing, the Ezra will be calling your name. It has a slim fit, comes in a variety of colorways, and features the same buttery soft fabrication as the Noelle mentioned above. It’s chic on its own but is also a great layering piece. Layer it under a sweater in the coldest months or layer it with another Ezra (which kind of feels reminiscent of the layer camisole days of the 2000s, and I don’t hate it).
Ballerina Wrap Top — The feminine details on this one immediately hooked me. I’ve always been a fan of Find Me Now, and pieces like this are exactly why. It’s thoughtfully designed and ethically made with bamboo jersey.
Seamless Merino Wool Zip-Up Top — “Work smarter, not harder” —this top, probably. I love the versatility of the half-zip: style it as a mockneck when zipped all the way up, or unzip and it lays like a collar. And okay, so this one is made from merino wool (so...technically a sweater?) but is thin enough that I had to add it to the mix.
Crepe-Jersey Long-Sleeved T-Shirt — If you’ve picked up on anything from my last few journal entries, you’re probably not shocked to see a bright cobalt blue top in the mix. Though I typically gravitate toward neutrals on a daily basis, adding a pop of Klein blue seems like the perfect way to keep things more interesting a day with back-to-back meetings.
