Fall Feelings

When it comes to my wardrobe, I historically have been more drawn to eclectic pieces. I avoided buying basics because they felt boring. For example, saving up to buy a nice white t-shirt just didn’t feel exciting or motivating. And though I will always love and appreciate garments with added drama that make a statement, I have finally given myself over to collecting more staple pieces this year.

I am prioritizing buying fewer, higher quality pieces. It feels like the smarter, more sustainable way for me to be building my wardrobe, especially in the world we live in right now. Though there is less of a thrill from constantly having items added to my wardrobe, the pieces I’m choosing to add have way more mileage than what I have traditionally purchased. I’m choosing to spend less spontaneously and instead, invest in a more focused and intentional way. And much to my surprise, having a foundation of basics in my closet has actually made getting dressed easier and more enjoyable than before. This ensures my wardrobe continues to work for me, no matter the season.
